My son (minor) attended his best friend’s birthday celebration along with 12 other young men. My son texted me and said the waitress claim he didn’t pay his bill and he couldn’t leave. I was waiting for my son in the parking lot when I got his text message so I immediately went into the restaurant. I spoke to the manager to claim the waitress didn’t get my son’s money for his meal and they can’t find the checkout slip and the bill wasn’t closed. I encouraged the manager to pull the video tape to prove my son paid his bill and that her waitress took the money and wanted my son to pay again. I said absolutely not! My son is not a liar your waitress is lying about this situation. The manager claim because she worked for the restaurant 10 years she wouldn’t lie. I replied back I know my son for 15 years ever since he was born and he wouldn’t lie. The manager referenced the police is on their way up to the restaurant. When I asked her to confirm what she just said, she changed it and said the owner lives in Shelby Township and it will take him 30 minutes to get to the restaurant so he can review the cameras because he was the only one with the passcode to the cameras. The manager advised she would “let” my son go this time and for me to give her my phone number so that after they review the tape they will confirm whether or not he paid. I gave the manager my number and advised I expect a call tonight. The manager called within 30 minutes; however, I missed the call. I called back and asked for the manager. The manager CONFIRMED that my son did pay the waitress and started giving me excuses that she was confused, she got two kids. I’m like I don’t care how many kids she got! I ONLY have ONE BLACK son and her false accusations could have gotten my son killed by the police. She embarrassed my son in front of his friends and the birthday young man’s mother. The manager told me to tell my son they were sorry. Ummm naw both the manager and the waitress not only have to apologize to my son, but do so with the birthday young man and his mother on the phone so that they do not think my son is a liar or a thief. The manager and waitress apologized to my son. The manager went further to offer a $20 gift card to their restaurant. I would not eat at this restaurant if it was the only restaurant on Earth. I told my son as we was driving up I hope it wasn’t this restaurant because I saw rats running across the steps, but since he wanted to go support his friend’s birthday all I could say is please pray over your food before you eat it. I highly recommend no one support this racist restaurant. I believe they targeted my BLACK son and thought they were going to intimidate him to double pay when he already paid the first time. This was a HORRIBLE experience and would not wish this treatment on my worst enemy. My family and I will NEVER eat here again! Keep your funky $20 gift card. We...
Read moreFood poisoning. I tried to delay this post for three days but with no resolution I will proceed with posting.
My significant other and I went here for the first time for hibachi. I got the vegetable tofu hibachi and he got the steak and chicken hibachi. Around eight hours after eating there we were both vomiting with diarrhea for around 12 hours straight.
The next day I called the restaurant to let them know what happened with the both of us, the hostess took my phone number and spoke with the owner while on the phone with me. He said he would call me back that evening. Meanwhile the hostess assured me we would document the occurrence and that our bill would be reimbursed. She showed concern for what happened. I unfortunately received no return phone call that evening. I called them back the next day and the hostess said we did call you back and proceeded to list off another phone number they had with a similar complaint. I further told them that this was not my phone number and questioned if more people were sick that night. This question was disregarded and I was told once again I would receive a phone call from the owner, which I never received.
Today I called and insisted to speak to the owner and would not get off the phone until speaking with him. He got on the phone and he immediately said he called me the day before. I said I never received any calls and requested proof of this. He said he did not have the call log anymore. The owner thereafter became defensive saying this illness had nothing to do with his restaurant and that we needed proof from a hospital for the occurrence if anything were to proceed with reimbursing the meal. Furthermore, they claim they cannot find our bill from that evening. He finally said take it up with my credit card company and that there was nothing he would do further. Needless to say, this is very poor management. After being a local for many years now and knowing many people that he would care about the reputation of his livelihood. And mainly overall just cared in general to assure he was taking every precaution to assure he was not a reason for food poisoning and illness in the city. So disappointed in this entire experience and will...
