I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kyoto and I must say it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable evening. Hibachi Chef Kingsley, the true star of the show, showcased his culinary skills with an unrivaled passion and captivating flair. His entertaining performance behind the hibachi grill was an absolute delight, as he effortlessly juggled knives, performed mesmerizing tricks, and engaged with the guests throughout the night. The energy and charisma he brought to the table made the entire dining experience not only delicious but also incredibly entertaining. Speaking of delicious, the culinary creations prepared by Chef Kingsley were nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was skillfully prepared and beautifully presented, making it a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. The flavors were expertly balanced, showcasing the perfect fusion of traditional Japanese cuisine with innovative twists. It was a true culinary journey that left me craving for more. The attentive and knowledgeable staff further enhanced the overall experience. From the moment we walked in, they provided exceptional service, ensuring that every need was met promptly and with a friendly smile. Their professionalism and dedication to customer satisfaction were truly commendable. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the entire team at Kyoto for maintaining impeccable cleanliness, quality, and consistency. It is evident that they take great pride in delivering an exceptional dining experience. In conclusion, I cannot recommend kyoto highly enough. Whether you're looking for an exquisite dining experience, delectable cuisine, or a memorable night out, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. Chef Kingsley's hibachi magic, combined with the outstanding service and attention to detail, make it a dining destination like no other.

I would leave 0 stars if that was an option. Yesterday, I ordered a teriyaki chicken lunch box to go and on my last bite of my dish, I bit into my chicken and it tasted and felt like rubber. I spit it out and looked down to see the inside was GREEN. I almost threw up. I immediately googled what could have been wrong with my chicken and it said it was likely “green muscle disease”. I called Koyoto to have my meal replaced, expecting to receive an apology, and a full refund with no problems, but apparently these people have no experience in customer service. I was told I had to take a pic and text it to the girl on the other end. Fine-I did so. I get a call back from her supervisor saying I needed to drive the chicken up there on my lunch break from work so they could see it. As if the picture wasn’t good enough? I don’t have time to drive a piece of chicken up there, not do I feel this is necessary. They then offer me 50% off my new order and when I argue that they should refund my meal completely, he refuses and tells me that it was probably just a piece of green onion that somehow ended up INSIDE THE CHICKEN???? I told him that was ridiculous and tried to remain reasonable but when he told me that he couldn’t just “take my word for it” (bc apparently the picture wasn’t good enough) he decided to hang up on me. My coworkers and I ordered from there quite frequently, but after biting into green chicken and being treated as rudely as I was, none of us will be returning. Pic below, for your viewing pleasure 🙂

I absolutely love sitting table side while I have my food cooked in front of me. I love bringing people here who have never eaten this style before even more. That flash & blast of heat that comes of the hibachi table as Chef rings his dinner bell. I’ve been so many times I’ve got my order down to a science. Double salad keep the soup. That ginger dressing on the salad, always looks so watery, yet I find myself dumping the dressing from what’s left of the first on the second salad. Im a sucker for the fried rice, so I join everyone else and fall in line for an extra 2-3$ dollars for an egg & some sauce, lol. Shrimp. 🍤 Shrimp 🍤 Shrimp 🍤 After my plate is loaded with both fried rice & some of those steaming hot noodles they take a spatula or two from the flat top, that they seared that shrimp on. After they load it up with melted butter, couple squirts of that sauce, couple shakes of that can, don’t forget that fresh squeezed lemon. Mmmm. (No Picture, sorry…. No time for photos when shrimp is about to hit plate) Come on man, enough of those theatrics, pour that shrimp over the good stuff, turn that exhaust vent off & let this guy enjoy this yum yum sauce goodness. Thank you chef!!

My son (minor) attended his best friend’s birthday celebration along with 12 other young men. My son texted me and said the waitress claim he didn’t pay his bill and he couldn’t leave. I was waiting for my son in the parking lot when I got his text message so I immediately went into the restaurant. I spoke to the manager to claim the waitress didn’t get my son’s money for his meal and they can’t find the checkout slip and the bill wasn’t closed. I encouraged the manager to pull the video tape to prove my son paid his bill and that her waitress took the money and wanted my son to pay again. I said absolutely not! My son is not a liar your waitress is lying about this situation. The manager claim because she worked for the restaurant 10 years she wouldn’t lie. I replied back I know my son for 15 years ever since he was born and he wouldn’t lie. The manager referenced the police is on their way up to the restaurant. When I asked her to confirm what she just said, she changed it and said the owner lives in Shelby Township and it will take him 30 minutes to get to the restaurant so he can review the cameras because he was the only one with the passcode to the cameras. The manager advised she would “let” my son go this time and for me to give her my phone number so that after they review the tape they will confirm whether or not he paid. I gave the manager my number and advised I expect a call tonight. The manager called within 30 minutes; however, I missed the call. I called back and asked for the manager. The manager CONFIRMED that my son did pay the waitress and started giving me excuses that she was confused, she got two kids. I’m like I don’t care how many kids she got! I ONLY have ONE BLACK son and her false accusations could have gotten my son killed by the police. She embarrassed my son in front of his friends and the birthday young man’s mother. The manager told me to tell my son they were sorry. Ummm naw both the manager and the waitress not only have to apologize to my son, but do so with the birthday young man and his mother on the phone so that they do not think my son is a liar or a thief. The manager and waitress apologized to my son. The manager went further to offer a $20 gift card to their restaurant. I would not eat at this restaurant if it was the only restaurant on Earth. I told my son as we was driving up I hope it wasn’t this restaurant because I saw rats running across the steps, but since he wanted to go support his friend’s birthday all I could say is please pray over your food before you eat it. I highly recommend no one support this racist restaurant. I believe they targeted my BLACK son and thought they were going to intimidate him to double pay when he already paid the first time. This was a HORRIBLE experience and would not wish this treatment on my worst enemy. My family and I will NEVER eat here again! Keep your funky $20 gift card. We...

Food poisoning. I tried to delay this post for three days but with no resolution I will proceed with posting.

My significant other and I went here for the first time for hibachi. I got the vegetable tofu hibachi and he got the steak and chicken hibachi. Around eight hours after eating there we were both vomiting with diarrhea for around 12 hours straight.

The next day I called the restaurant to let them know what happened with the both of us, the hostess took my phone number and spoke with the owner while on the phone with me. He said he would call me back that evening. Meanwhile the hostess assured me we would document the occurrence and that our bill would be reimbursed. She showed concern for what happened. I unfortunately received no return phone call that evening. I called them back the next day and the hostess said we did call you back and proceeded to list off another phone number they had with a similar complaint. I further told them that this was not my phone number and questioned if more people were sick that night. This question was disregarded and I was told once again I would receive a phone call from the owner, which I never received.

Today I called and insisted to speak to the owner and would not get off the phone until speaking with him. He got on the phone and he immediately said he called me the day before. I said I never received any calls and requested proof of this. He said he did not have the call log anymore. The owner thereafter became defensive saying this illness had nothing to do with his restaurant and that we needed proof from a hospital for the occurrence if anything were to proceed with reimbursing the meal. Furthermore, they claim they cannot find our bill from that evening. He finally said take it up with my credit card company and that there was nothing he would do further. Needless to say, this is very poor management. After being a local for many years now and knowing many people that he would care about the reputation of his livelihood. And mainly overall just cared in general to assure he was taking every precaution to assure he was not a reason for food poisoning and illness in the city. So disappointed in this entire experience and will...
